A multi-vendor marketplace for the tailoring industry — multiple tailors sell and take work on one platform, instead of a single-brand made-to-order shop.

BeTailored is a marketplace for tailors, not a storefront for one atelier. Tailors join as vendors; clients discover them, specify garments, and order through the platform. Developera built that multi-vendor system for the tailoring industry — vendor shops, client hiring, and the operator layer that keeps quality and orders in one place.

The challenge

Tailoring is a services-and-craft market with many independent makers. A single-brand ecommerce site would lock BeTailored to one workshop. Clients needed to find tailors, compare offerings, and place made-to-measure work; tailors needed their own presence, orders, and fulfilment without running a separate site each. Generic marketplaces ignore measurements, lead times, and garment workflows. BeTailored needed a multi-vendor system built for this industry.

Approach

  • Modelled tailors as vendors and clients as the hiring/buying side
  • Built tailor profiles and listings suited to made-to-measure work, not generic SKUs
  • Designed order flow for custom garments — options, fit, and production-relevant detail
  • Gave operators tools to onboard tailors, watch quality, and run the marketplace

Multi-vendor for the tailoring industry

Each tailor is a vendor on a shared platform: profile, offerings, and orders they own. Clients browse the marketplace rather than being forced into a single house style. That is the same two-sided structure as other Developera marketplaces — applied to tailors and custom clothing.

Orders that match how garments are made

A tailor marketplace cannot treat a suit like a t-shirt in a cart. BeTailored captures the detail a workshop actually needs — options, measurements, and lead time — so the order that lands with the vendor is usable, not a screenshot from a chat thread.

One platform, many workshops

As more tailors join, the catalog grows without spinning up a new store per vendor. Roles, listings, and order boundaries stay explicit so BeTailored can scale the talent pool without rebuilding the core.
